We use a broad definition of “product” at Aquent. Our product team works on defining new service offerings, enhancing the custom technology solutions that support our business, and working with third parties to support core processes at scale. Products at Aquent almost always require both technological and operational development. Many of our products facilitate key internal business functions, others are available to our clients (some of the biggest and most successful companies in the world) and our talent (creative, marketing, and digital superheroes). Our products power our business and are fundamental to our success. 

We are looking for an experienced product leader who is passionate about building products that inspire user devotion while driving business outcomes. Our incoming Director of Product will partner with Aquent’s leadership to define the strategic agenda, evaluating potential projects designed to enable disruption and organic growth. This individual will also oversee the day-to-day efforts of building and rolling out new products while ensuring the optimal solution has been created. Finally, this role should leverage a strong external perspective and understanding of technological and competitive evolution to ensure we are continuously pushing the envelope on innovation across our portfolio and business model.

Develop and evolve the product strategy to grow our business

  • Serve as a thought-partner with Aquent leadership to elevate the company strategy and identify new opportunities within and beyond the defined innovation opportunities. 

  • Drive critical thinking and understanding in key stakeholders to influence the agenda and approach relative to competitors, capabilities, and positioning.

  • Identify potential white space opportunities that may enable growth.

  • Lead the investigation and evaluation process of identified opportunities ensuring the organization focuses on the most impactful and beneficial options.


Lead the execution of our strategy

  • Lead cross-team efforts to build plans and make prioritization decisions. 

  • Allocate resources to pursue approved opportunities.

  • Establish and maintain product development organizational structures and ways of working that optimize the creation of value for the business. 

  • Oversee the product development day-to-day activities to ensure that work is progressing appropriately and course-correct where required.

  • Partner with functional and business leaders across Aquent to support the launch and success of new products and services. 

  • Ensure that the global leadership team is up to date on ongoing projects.


Evangelize our products: 

  • Represent our products and team with crystal clear communication in formal and informal writing and speaking.

  • Passionately evangelize the benefits and value our products provide based on your deep understanding of how our products make a real difference in the lives of our staff, clients, and talent and the potential they have to change the industry.


Mature our Product Management, UX, and Product Operations functions and team

  • Manage the growth and professional development of a talented team of product managers, designers, and product operations managers. 

  • Identify new skills and processes to be adopted by the team and lead their development and implementation. 

  • Continue to define and refine these functions, defining levels and career paths. 



Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (MBA preferred)

  • 10+ years agile software product management experience guiding products from concept to launch, and growth

  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership and people development

  • Previous experience as a recruiter or product manager in the staffing industry or online job board company preferred; Knowledge of applicant tracking systems preferred

  • Previous experience with creating, launching, and positioning products that differentiate companies

  • Excellent written and verbal, formal and informal, communication and persuasion skills with direct reports, peers, executive stakeholders, and external customers

  • Analytical, motivated, and decisive future-oriented thinker; Ability to think broadly, refine problem space, articulate a direction, and influence decision-makers

  • High tolerance for uncertainty, ambiguity, and change and the ability to evenly lead a team under evolving circumstances 

  • Consistently acts with a clear and visible set of values and ethics
