Human Resources Generalist -Compliance and Administration

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist manages the HR Compliance function supporting Aquent’s dedication to maintaining a fair and inclusive workplace. This role will be responsible for ensuring that HR policies and practices comply with all applicable global, federal, state, and local laws. In this role, you will work closely with Employee Relations to ensure compliance is met for items such as record keeping, audits and government reports.  The success of this person will be driven by proactive collaboration with Employee Relations, HR Business Partners, Legal and other departments that sustains an overall culture of fairness, trust and alignment with the company’s mission and vision. 

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate sound judgment, strategic thinking, excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to prioritize and take initiative, work well under pressure, and maintain confidential information.  

Primary Objectives:

  •  Ensure the organization is providing a compliant and safe environment for all employees, vendors and clients while partnering with all internal groups to support our business goals and objectives.
     Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit, and approval process for new hire offer letters, staff changes and separations 

  • Monitor policies and programs in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including OFCCP Compliance, EEO, Vets and AAP.

  • Manage response preparation, reporting and ongoing compliance reviews for  government agency audits.

  • Employee safety, welfare, wellness and health

  • Manage unemployment and workers compensation programs nationwide

  • Job classification reviews for FLSA guidelines

  • Partner with Employee Relations in policy development and documentation

  • Performance management administration

  • Headcount tracking for reporting and analytics

  • Coordinate Service Award Programs

  • Manage Employment files and record retention policies

  • Serve as SME for compliance related training with direction of Employee Relations

  • Assist with other projects and responsibilities as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in an applicable HR role.

  • Excellent written and verbal communicator

  • Proven leadership, organizational planning and problem solving skills

  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Knowledge and prior experience of employment law.


  • Staffing experience and HRIS management strongly preferred.  

  • Google or Microsoft Office Experience (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Ceridian Dayforce

  • Experience managing and reporting on Affirmative Action Plans, EEO1 and Veterans
