SUMMARY

Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and piping systems of industrial equipment and facility. Schedules, coordinates, and directs repair work for industrial equipment by performing the following duties.


RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Ability to read and follow the information on work instructions.
  • Record data either manually or by computer as required.
  • Satisfactory performance of all duties of a “b” class maintenance mechanic and/or electrician.
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
  • Test malfunctioning equipment and discuss equipment operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
  • Dismantles equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains Lubrication Systems and Auto lubber.
  • Install, repair, and leak detect vacuum equipment.
  • Must be familiar with in plant vacuum equipment set up and operation.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
  • Rigs equipment for installation and relocation.
  • Must be familiar with and provide all types of hand tools as required.
  • Ability to operate industrial forklift.
  • Must be able to work and direct others working in heights of and up to 50 feet.
  • Must comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and occasional overtime.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED

  • Required license for forklift, recertification every two years. Confined space entry certification, recertification once every year.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic Math.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • This position requires a minimum of five to seven years related experience and/or training.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk, climb or balance, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is usually exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
