Job Summary:

The Sr. Network Engineer-Broadband is responsible for network planning and engineering of all Shentel broadband networks to include coax (HFC), RFoG, and fiber optic networks. The Sr. Network Engineer-Broadband will also be responsible for project management of major engineering initiatives as well as generating detailed engineering documentation to support the installation, configuration, and ongoing operations of the network.

Qualification Requirements:

a. Education: BS degree in a relevant engineering or technology field is desired. Other candidates with a strong technical background and substantial industry or military experience will be considered.

b. Experience Level:

    i. 7 or more years of experience in the telecommunications industry is required

    ii. 5 or more years of experience in engineering or technical operations role

c. Special Requirements:

    i. Budgeting and financial analysis

    ii. BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)

    iii. Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers BDS, BTS, BTCS, DVEP certification or equivalent knowledge

    iv. Strong project management experience

    v. Fiber engineering or construction background

d. Skill Requirements:

    i. Detail oriented and strong organizational skills

    ii. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    iii. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
