Contracts & Licensing Manager
Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation (AADF) is seeking a highly motivated and personable Contract and Licensing Manager. This position reports to the General Manager and assists with the licensing and related contracting for AADF productions and projects. This position works closely with the General Manager and AADF staff.
This ideal candidate must have a comprehensive knowledge and background of a performing arts organization and a solid production background. Experience in contracting and licensing with a dance/production company is required.
Start date: ASAP
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
Manage all choreographer and designer contracting in collaboration with the General Manager and Ailey’s legal department
- Manage AAADT performance and touring contracts
- Manage/supervise the negotiation and securing of music, video, photographs, and other copyrighted materials for internet streaming
- Supervise the Production and Licensing Coordinator
- In coordination with the General Manager, negotiate contractual obligations with Choreographers, Designers, Assistants, Composers, etc.
- Draft engagement agreements for review/approval by Ailey’s General Counsel
- Liaise with Company Management to meet contractual obligations for Artists (travel, lodging, per diem, ground transportation, etc.)
- Review and negotiate touring engagement agreements
- Coordinate/Manage/Execute production needs for special events
- Coordinate/Schedule seasonal Production Meetings
- Compile a list of all contractual ticket obligations for Artists
- Manage Production Department’s ticket allotments for each performance
- Perform general administrative duties
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of two years in a similar position, including dance, live theater, concerts, and/or production experience
- Experience working independently
