Arnold Motor Supply and its sister company, The Merrill Company, started in Spencer, Iowa in 1927.  Today we’re one of the largest partnerships in the United States with 65 locations in five states. Along with our auto parts store locations, we operate two distribution centers, an automobile refinishing division, a light industrial coatings distributor, and a related equipment sales division. We have an opportunity for a leader in the technology field to join us as our Information Technology Specialist.  This position is a critical piece of our IT
team and is a great opportunity for someone who likes to contribute in a variety of ways.
 

Core Accountabilities

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert in key business reporting, company Intranet, and telephony systems
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to develop, organize, and maintain accurate product data and related tools used to drive effective analysis and decisions
  • Ensure accuracy, reliability and usability of intellectual property in the form of Intranet forms and reports

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Play lead role in establishing and maintaining structures and data related to company inventory and customers
  • Provide related information for decision support within various company operations
  • Maximize operational efficiencies through recommendations to Director of IT
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Store Operations and Marketing on reporting needs
  • Maintain and improve company intranet site
  • Learn and maintain the company’s telephony system.
  • Provide technical support to company staff and troubleshoot computer problems; this is a shared responsibility with all IT staff

  

  Qualifications



  • Typically, candidates best suited for this position will
    have at least five years of related experience, some of which may be
    substituted for a closely related degree


  • Demonstrated ability to manage, organize and maintain Intranet pages through Google Workspace
  • Ability to conceptualize the organization of large quantities of data to generate user-friendly, customer-centric reporting dashboards
  • Ability to work with the rest of the IT team in supporting our software and staff
  • Capacity to work with a strong, consistent attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing and active listening
  • Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, software and programming
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Efficient IT/technical troubleshooting capabilities
  • Great customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or Information Technology
    is strongly preferred
  • Experience with HTML and CSS webpage development preferred
