Government Customer Service Representative I
Student Government’s purpose is to lead the Sacramento State community in serving the diverse needs of Sacramento State students by promoting leadership development, shared governance, relationship building, community betterment, and lifelong personal and professional growth.
SUMMARY: The Customer Services Representative I will provide customer service at the ASI front office located in the ASI Government Office. Incumbents in this position are the front office contact for providing services to CSUS Students, ASI Board of Directors and Staff. Primary duties consist of implementation of the DOC grant process, reply to requested information from students; provide support to ASI Board, Staff, Departments and Programs. This is an entry-level position, open during the academic year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
•Adhere to and exemplify the ASI Declarations of Values.
•Put students first when prioritizing work.
•Respond courteously and accurately to requests for information.
•Understand and implement the DOC grant process.
•Learn names, faces, and functions of ASI Board Members and Staff.
•Learn and know what the programs are and who the appropriate contact individuals are.
•Continue to learn as much as possible about CSUS contacts, functions, and processes.
•Other duties as required.
•Collaborate with a diverse student population
•Understand and follow oral/written directions
•Listen and respond courteously to questions
•Establish and maintain cooperative relations
•Use initiative to learn ASI Services/Departments/Programs
•Be resourceful in accomplishing tasks
•Enrolled in a minimum of 6 units at Sacramento State; maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA overall (for Student Assistant incumbents)
•Student friendly attitude, adaptability and capacity to learn
•Strong attention to detail and accuracy is required
•Experience in the operation of a fax machine and copier is helpful
•Excellent customer service skills, the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
•Basic experience with Microsoft word, excel, outlook
