Eagle Integrated Services, LLC (EIS) is seeking a Mathematician
Mandatory Qualifications
- The contractor employee shall possess a Doctoral Degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or Operations Research, and strong knowledge of modelling and statistics. Contractor shall be current in Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training to be able to access and process identified medical data.
- The contractor employee shall possess advanced analytical skills in the development of mathematical and statistical models.
- The contractor employee shall have the ability to program in Visual Basic, SQL, and R.
- The contractor employee shall have proficiency with logical and set operations.
- The contractor employee shall have proficiency with statistical modelling processes, including verification and validation of statistical models and heuristics.
- The contractor employee shall be current in Scientific and Technical Information (STINFO) training.
- The contractor employee shall possess a minimum of 3 years of experience of utilizing mathematics in a professional environment.
- The contractor employee shall have a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) in place with their company based on the potential access to confidential, proprietary, and/or sensitive information. The NDA shall be provided to the Government Program Manager by start of performance.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in data science, military processes and organizations, and modelling in the healthcare domain are all desired.
- Five or more years of recent experience in data science, especially in healthcare, is desired.
- One or more years of experience using mathematics in a military setting is desired.
- Cumulatively, 10 or more years of experience using mathematics in a professional environment is desired
Tasks
- The contractor employee shall provide subject matter expertise to the process of usefully labelling medical records for statistical and modelling processes.
- The contractor employee shall assist in the development of labelling methods allowing for the automation or semi-automation of the labelling process.
- The contractor employee shall support the development of credible, theoretically driven statistical models exploring the relationship between the medical record labels
- The contractor employee shall develop and implement validation and verification protocols, to ensure that the products of study are performing as expected, and perform corrections in the event of models which fail to perform to standard.
- The contractor employee shall assist in the drafting of written communication for internal and external purposes.
- The contractor employee shall participate as an expert in modelling and statistics in interdisciplinary planning and analysis.
- The contractor employee shall acquire data access permissions necessary to perform stated tasks.
- The contractor employee shall demonstrate or acquire familiarity with Air Force medical records systems and standards.
- The contractor employee shall demonstrate or acquire familiarity with all relevant data repositories used as part of work, or which are generated in pursuit of work.
- The contractor employee shall collect data from various databases, pursuant to agreements with database owners.
- The contractor employee shall establish the relationship of available data to existing data sets, map the data between data elements and code for these specific data elements, establish data storage architecture requirements, and create a comprehensive data dictionary.
- The contractor employee shall provide conference support assistance by active participation in professional conferences, preparation of posters and presentations, and publication of peer-reviewed manuscripts.
- The contractor employee shall brief study findings at appropriate meetings or forums, as determined by the Government.
- The contractor employee shall provide technical automation support for all versions of MS Windows, Microsoft Office (e.g., MS Access, MS Excel, MS Publisher), MS SQL, and Adobe.
- The contractor employee shall provide data creation and administration in support of model development, analysis, and publication.
- The contractor employee shall document products for the actual computer code used in order for government personnel to access these files for review approval or for generating copies as required. All requirements shall be prepared in accordance with USAFSAM programming standards and standard commercial practices inclusive of any/all procedures implanted as part of this task.
- The contractor employee shall assist in briefings and production of documents as appropriate to transfer knowledge of study products to customers in the AFRS and Air Force at large.
