Telecommunications Technician

Vista Global Solutions (VGS) is looking for a qualified Telecommunications Technician for iPhone/Pager support at the Brooke Army Medical Center, located on Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, in San Antonio, TX.
Job description
We’re seeking a Telecommunications Technician to provide day-to-day management of the BAMC IMD iPhone/Pager program • Provide property accountability through the use of government hand receipt documents on all assigned equipment • Provide user education/training on available/issued equipment • Document user requests and technician actions in government System of Record (ServiceNow).
Responsibilities and Duties:
- The contractor shall provide on-site hardware maintenance services on Government leased equipment.
- The contractor shall create a support request in the ticketing system during initial contact with the customer, except on weekends and holidays in accordance with the local service level agreements.
- The contractor shall participate in the flow of information by documenting all facets of support from initial contact, problem definition, problem resolution, and final disposition in the ticketing system, which will be available at all times to the government.
- The contractor shall utilize Microsoft and other management tools, as applicable, to resolve requests for assistance as rapidly as possible and to the satisfaction of the customer.
- The contractor shall have experince with configuration procedures and troubleshooting of mobile pagers and other remote communications devices
- The contractor shall access vendor website managing mobile device inventory i.e. adds, moves, or changes to device configuration requirements.
- The contractor shall have a strong working knowledge of Active Directory i.e user account creation, modification and maintenance.
- The contractor shall have experience in military hand receipt practices and be prepared to maintain accountability controls of all government owned hardware and software.
- The contractor shall maintain integrity and accuracy of the current asset management system.
- The contractor shall perform on-call duty on evenings, weekends, and holidays to provide guidance and support to customer support technicians on resolution of program/applications problems and/or failures, and may be required to return to the work site to resolve critical problems. Contractor shall submit overtime documentation to the first line supervisor for review, first line supervisor will send documentations to the COR for approval.
Qualifications:
- Have one (1) year of experience in pocket pager and mobile cellular device technologies i.e. troubleshooting and changing out government issued pocket pages and cellular devices.
- Be experienced in the use of the government ticketing systems.
- Have customer support experience.
