1. Responsible for preparing payroll information needed for bi-weekly payroll processing and maintaining payroll records; audits payroll information for accuracy.
2. Assists with time and attendance systems; trouble shoots, answers questions and makes decisions of independent judgement on corrections when necessary.
3. Processes and analyzes payroll data and preparation of routine reports.
4. Audits and corrects payroll data discrepancies using advanced Microsoft Excel calculation formulas and functions. 
5. Calculates and processes on demand checks, reviews, edits and makes corrections and adjustments as needed.
6. Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
7. Processes wage statements, EDD audit forms, and Disability forms.
8. Assists with completion of IRS levies and garnishments of employees’ wages.
9. Processes Tip Program Agreements and tip rate changes.
10. Verifies new hire employee information for accuracy in the Payroll system.
11. Maintains direct deposits, processes Terminations, and processes payments of vacation and sick requests.
12. Processes employment verifications as needed.
13. Participates in problem solving and special projects within the Payroll Department.
14. Performs all other work-related duties and data reporting as assigned by the Payroll Supervisor or Payroll Manager.

Work Experience Required: 
Requires 2 to 4 years of payroll or related experience.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel required. 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 10-key by touch. Typing 35 wpm.

Must be computer literate and have general knowledge in business. 
Ability to interact with employees and management
Must have a positive/enthusiastic approach to all assignments. 
Attendance and punctuality are an essential function of the position.
