JOB SUMMARY: Manages various human resources programs and procedures at UCHealth Training Facility and PDB employees.  Oversees UCHealth HR Administrator.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages assigned HR projects and initiatives including training mandates, Ceridian implementations/support items, audits to verify accuracy of HR-related information, EEO1 Reports, OSHA 300 log, contract recordkeeping etc. by providing oversight of HR Administrator, demonstrating project management skills, coordinating with other departments as needed, and delivering on budget/deadline. 

Manages performance management and employee relations issues (Director-level and below) to maximize employee performance by ensuring timely completion of performance reviews, counseling managers and employees, conducting periodic pay surveys, making recommendations to managers, suggesting training plans, drafting performance documents, conducting exit interviews and termination meetings, as necessary.

Oversees benefit management (e.g. health/wellness programs as well as 401k Plan, Pension Plan) by communicating benefit information to players, coaches, and staff, resolving discrepancies and claims issues, auditing files for accuracy, assisting with annual enrollment meetings, participating in meetings with outside vendors, making recommendations for plan improvements, troubleshooting problems, and recommending solutions.

Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment law by studying existing and new legislation; monitoring adherence to regulations and advising management on needed action.

Manages recruitment activities in conjunction with hiring manager by posting job openings, coordinating communication with applicants, interviewing potential candidates, evaluating work samples, extending offers of employment, and ensuring reference checks and background screenings are completed prior to hire.

Manages workers’ compensation recordkeeping/record retrieval/subpoenas for players and oversees worker’s compensation process for  UCHealth Staff members by retrieving players records from Athletic Training Department and/or /Image Silo, coordinating distribution of player records with outside consultants/legal counsel, as well as ensuring prompt medical attention for staff member claims, filing of first report of injury, responding to correspondence, and completing all required documentation.

Oversees new-employee orientation by developing programming, organizing new-hire mixers, distributing employment paperwork, reviewing completed paperwork for accuracy and compliance with federal and state laws as well as NFL Guidelines, and reviewing pertinent policies and employee handbook information. 

Contributes to team effort by assisting in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department against established goals, recommending new approaches/procedures to ensure continual improvement and efficiency of department, and offering support and insight to EVP, HR to accomplish related results.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops/seminars, reviewing professional publications, and sharing knowledge.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum:
  • Bachelors Degree and at least 7+ years of increasingly responsible HR experience or equivalent combination of school and work experience.  Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or Psychology degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 year’s experience supervising at least 1 full-time staff member or equivalent FTE
  • Knowledge and understanding of state and federal laws including familiarity with COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, FLSA, and HIPAA.
  • Knowledge of Word for Windows and Excel or similar computer software experience. 
Preferred: 
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint or similar a plus.
  • PHR/SPHR certification highly desired.
  • Previous HRIS experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including ability to confidently interact with senior-level decision makers.
  • Ability to maintain confidence and protect HR/Payroll information by keeping information confidential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Superior verbal/written communication and presentation skills; good punctuation, spelling, grammar and attention to detail a must; ability to work with extreme accuracy under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills essential.  Ability to maintain a positive and respectful attitude and relate to people at all levels of an organization. 
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high volume environment and work hours outside of normal business hours with little or no advance notice.
Benefits

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $80,000 and $100,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
