Assistant Director, Prospect Management
The Indiana University Foundation’s (IUF) Prospect Management and Research Team is growing! We are seeking a highly inquisitive, professional, and personable individual to serve as Assistant Director, Prospect Management. This new leadership position was designed to assist the Prospect Management & Research director in managing all departmental functions. This is a management role, with responsibilities for leading, coaching, growing, and evaluating a three-member prospect management staff.
In addition to management responsibilities, this position works to ensure the accuracy and completeness of prospect data in the development database. This person will learn, review, and critically assess the department’s operational practices, and will help to plan and develop processes that support the prospect management needs of all IU development staff.
After successful completion of onboarding, this individual has the opportunity to exemplify great collaboration and service-orientation, by meeting with and building relationships with IU development staff across all campuses, working to understand how the prospect management team can provide even better service and efficiencies for IU fundraisers.
The Assistant Director, Prospect Management must be a team player with a passion for process improvement, a keen eye for detail, and must be willing to step in where needed to support the work of the Prospect Management and Research function at the IU Foundation. Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of the fundraising process
- Knowledge of prospect management and research principles and methods
- Interpersonal skills and judgment suitable for appropriate discretion and demeanor when dealing with all fundraisers, staff, administrators, and others
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to exercise good judgment in the handling of confidential information
- Understand database management practices
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to analyze data and present findings clearly
- Must be able to use current word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
1-3 years of direct management/supervisory/leadership of employees
Fundraising experience or experience working closely in/with development
Higher education experience
Knowledge or experience with the Blackbaud CRM or similar fundraising software

Departments within the division include Prospect Management and Research, Events and Meeting Services, Donor Relations, and Stewardship.
