Position Summary:

The Quality Manager will be required to ensure that components are being tested, repaired and overhauled in accordance with the appropriate technical data. In addition, they will enforce a high standard of cleanliness and functionality not only of the parts inspected, but also in the work place. Responsible for management oversight and process effectiveness of quality assurance system, engage and implement policies and procedures that improve quality awareness, controls, and accountability.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of and champion the Corrective Action system
  • Maintain the corrective/preventive action program, inclusive of tracking status of open actions, receiving and reviewing responses, working with departments for accurate completion and periodic reports and metrics
  • Monitor, evaluate and assign corrective actions to appropriate department heads for completion.
  • Verify by auditing the efficiency of corrective actions
  • Report ongoing activities to management and keep the company continuous improvement efforts on track
  • Provide monthly reports on problem areas (Pareto, Trend, etc.) to senior management
  • Coordinate, maintain, and improve the ISO 9001 program
  • Create / Maintain / Audit ISO procedures for compliance based on ISO requirements and audit history
  • Conduct internal process audits for all departments according to ISO requirements and vendor audits as needed
  • Work with engineering and operations to help improve products and process using DOE, PFMEA, SPC, 6 Sigma tools
  • Develop PPAP process (if applicable)
  • Direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products
  • Plan, promote, and coordinate training activities related to product quality and reliability
  • Responsible for employee interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Position Qualifications & Requirements:


  • High School diploma or GED;
  • Preferred minimum of 2 year degree in Quality, Statics, Management or related field


  • 5 years’ experience as a Quality Coordinator, Manger, or related position required
  • Manufacturing industry or background experience required

Certification /License:

  • AS9100 or AS9110 quality certification preferred
  • Other Quality Certifications Preferred
  • Lean/5S/6Sigmas Certifications a plus

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Quality systems and systems auditing
  • Possess good project management skills
  • Proficient in developing and leading statistical sampling plans
  • The ability to work collaboratively with others toward mutual objectives
  • Excellent listening and questioning skills
  • Good math skills
  • Ability to distinguish color variances in the products
  • Ability to establish and maintain new systems and processes needed for quality perfection
  • Proficient in the operation of computers and related software
  • Possess good technical writing skills
  • ISO 9001 experience (startup of ISO experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • The ability to identify root cause, develop creative solutions to problems and continuously improve systems and processes
  • Leadership: Including recognizing strengths and weaknesses in others as well as oneself
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to clearly communicate expectations and instructions

Supervisory responsibilities:

  • Manage Quality Inspectors and Quality Specialist to ensure compliance with both company and quality requirements
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
  • Responsible for employee interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Work environment:

  • Work occurs primarily in a non-temperature controlled manufacturing plant environment but time in office is also necessary
  • Frequently is required to stand and walk
  • Must have normal/correctable vision
  • Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE)

Travel: Minimal (10%-15%)
