Reading Truck Group - Plant Controller
The Plant Controller position functions as a business partner with plant and financial management to effectively manage and control the local business. This role is responsible for cost accounting, inventory controls and analysis, operational/variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.

•Assure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies. Resolve questions of GAAP and internal controls with corporate financial management.
•Analyze internal controls to ensure assets are adequately safeguarded and results are accurately reported.
•Responsible for internal controls at the plant for operations and finance.
•Analyze and accurately report current month’s financial results to Operations and Corporate management in accordance with corporate format and time requirements.
•Prepare weekly forecasts, monthly reports of results, annual operating plan, and strategic planning.
•Reconcile all inter-company accounts monthly.
•Develop and monitor operational key metrics to drive improvements. Identify unfavorable trends and work with Operations to correct.
•Perform audits of bills of materials to ensure product costs are accurate and accounted for properly.
•Responsible for variance analysis of actual results to standard cost. Work with Operations to develop and monitor corrective action plans.
•Ensure accuracy of the cycle counts and physical inventory and reported results. Investigate and explain book to physical adjustments.
•Maintain proper inventory reserves for excess and obsolescence and provision for physical inventory variance. Identify inventory issues and work with Engineering, Sales, and Operations to reduce excess.
•Review labor reporting and cost, material costs, manufacturing overhead, product mix, and inventory levels.
•Perform payback analysis and provide financial support for capital requests.
•Assist in the completion of special projects.
Position Qualifications & Requirements:
•BA/BS in Accounting, Economics, or Finance
•Five to ten years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Skills and Abilities:
•Must have advanced level experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word
•Experience with J.D. Edwards or other large automated accounting system preferred
•Manufacturing industry or background experience preferred
•Effective oral and written communication; excellent interpersonal skills
•Excellent organizational skills
•The ability to collaborate with a multi-department team and thrive in a fast-pace setting
Supervisory responsibilities: 1 TM
•Professional office environment
•Sedentary work with extended periods of computer use
•Occasional work in warehouse/manufacturing plant
•Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE)
Travel: Occasional (<25%)
