The Wisconsin State Journal is seeking a reporter who thrives on breaking news to work afternoons and evenings.
More than a general assignment reporter, we’re looking for a one-person news organization who can spot developing stories and post initial drafts before the competition has even put its boots on. We need a problem-solver who can get the story when phone calls and emails go unanswered, and who can deliver accurate, authoritative and clean copy quickly, sometimes in minutes.
At least two years of daily newspaper reporting experience is preferred.
Hours are roughly 2 to 10 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays.
To be considered for the position, applicants must apply online at lee.net/careers/opportunities. As part of your online application, please attach a cover letter and samples or links to 10 stories that demonstrate skills in the above areas.
The deadline to apply is Sunday, June 13.
