Summary:
Responsible for operation, management, and supervision of City swimming pools. Provides leadership and technical assistance to aquatics team. Enforce all aquatics facility rules, policies, and procedures. Maintains open communication with patrons and aquatics team. Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays. This is a seasonal position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervises and manages the operations of the pool facilities
- Plans and coordinates the schedules, training, and evaluates staff
- Implements staff schedules, lifeguard rotation schedule and daily assignments
- Records daily attendance and financial operations
- Records and maintains operating records and reports
- Maintains a clean, safe and orderly facility
- Administers pump room procedures including chemical readings, balancing and filtration
- Hyper-chlorinates pool water when there is an incident
- Inspects facility regularly and reports any unsafe conditions/equipment immediately
- Ensures City financial policies, procedures, and safety guidelines followed
- Drives between designated aquatics facilities
- Monitors safety guidelines and proper rescue techniques to patrons in the aquatic facility
- Administers first aid or CPR according to prescribed procedures and notify emergency medical personnel when necessary
- Handles routine disciplinary issues and communicates with supervisor regularly
- Assists in front desk operation and transactions
- Assists with special recreational activities such as athletic events, instructional programs, special projects
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- 2 years of experience as a lifeguard
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as an Assistant Manager or Manager
- Bilingual in English & Spanish
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- American Red Cross Lifeguarding
- American Red Cross First Aid, AED, & CPR for professional rescuers
- Valid driver’s license
