Position Summary/Objective: 
This primary responsibility for this position is to focus on selling premium inventory for the Minnesota Timberwolves.  This is a full menu consultant role with a heavy emphasis on selling our Grant Thornton Chairman’s Club, TCL Theater Boxes, Lexus Courtside Club, TCL SixOneTwo Lounge and Club T.I. spaces. 

What would you do?

  1. Responsible for prospecting, executing sales presentations, attending networking events, and closing sales.
  2. Build strong relationships with the Minneapolis/St. Paul business community as well as local leaders within our surrounding communities.
  3. Sell premium seating inventory inclusive of lease agreements, memberships, partial plan packages, individual suite rentals, and group tickets.
  4. Set and conduct out of the office sales appointments.
  5. Accountable for certain levels of activity (calls and appointments), appointment goals, and closed sales goals.
  6. Document all communication in CRM.
  7. Participate in educational opportunities on Timberwolves product offerings, pricing, and sales strategies, as well as market trends and industry best practices.

What are your proficiencies or equivalent experiences?

  1. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Strong meeting and presentation skills.
  3. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) is strongly preferred.
  4. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, AXS, Back Office and LinkedIn Navigator preferred.
  5. Ability to work nights, weekends and potentially holidays.
  6. Ability to work on a team and independently preferred.

Experience: Minimum three (3) years sales experience strongly preferred. Experience working in collegiate, minor league or professional sports preferred.


Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

 

Supervisory Responsibility, if any: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.


Travel:
Position may require some travel to external events and industry meetings.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. In addition to working office hours staff will be required to work Timberwolves and Lynx home games as well as external events including but not limited to: charity and networking events. Work is generally sedentary in nature, and the working environment is favorable. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena, which includes bleachers/steps as well as moderate to high levels of noise .  

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer, and telephone. Staff will frequently sit, stand, walk, and ascend and descend bleachers/steps in the arena. Staff may occasionally move boxes of merchandise weighing up to 30 pounds.
