Program Delivery Electrical Engineer II

YOUR ROLE:
As an Electrical Engineer II, you are an experienced Professional Engineer (PE) with strong career ambition and background in generating and translating electrical systems into final solutions for various project building types as part of a multi-disciplinary project team.
You support the electrical engineering discipline and the Program Delivery team by developing design concepts and creating accurate and complete documentation for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security systems and communications in all phases within the established design principles, project budget and schedule for national clients. Through planning, priority setting, and drive for results, you maintain a high degree of customer focus.
Using your presentation skills, interpersonal savvy and peer relationships, you work well within a multi-disciplinary project team, providing technical design expertise and assistance during the various phases of projects.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Project Quality
- Provide design analysis consistent with Progressive AE standards.
- Coordinate the work of the electrical design team through the schematic, design development, and construction document phase of a project.
- Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
- Conduct work sessions, field investigations or meetings at project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
- Use design software/technology, including Revit, AutoCAD, BSD Spec Link, Elum Tools or Visual Lighting Software, Easy Power and other emerging technologies for presentation and production purposes.
- Assist in the preparation of building models, detailed contract documents, construction documents, photometric simulations, arc flash and specifications consistent with Progressive AE’s standards. Prepare building models and detailed contract documents.
- Coordinate workload to complete the documents on schedule.
- Coordinate technical components of projects with other internal disciplines and outside consultants to ensure that conflicts do not exist in the documents.
- Coordinate and assist with affected disciplines that have any addendum requests for information, change proposal requests, and/or change orders and is responsible to incorporate agreed upon changes into the project documents.
- Complete work in a timely manner and alert the Senior Electrical Engineer and team members when a change in scope of work changes.
- Provide control strategies for project budget overruns.
- Attend scheduled team meetings and be an active participant.
- Coordinate use and track shared electronic documentation and files with internal and external project team members including clients, contractors, and consultants.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends and new technical information as it relates to the discipline and applies knowledge to deliver high quality results.
- Lead team meetings and activities including ‘Lessons Learned’ sessions, as needed.
- Act as an ambassador for company-wide values and ethical standards of practice.
Financial
- Assist the Senior Electrical Engineer with the preparation of engineering proposals, as needed.
- Assist the Senior Electrical Engineer in monitoring budget and schedule.
- Work with the Senior Electrical Engineer to provide control strategies for project budget overruns.
- Oversee and produce contract documents that are efficient and consistent with the scope of work, schedule, and fee allotted to complete the work.
- Identify and work with the Senior Electrical Engineer toward solutions when inconsistencies occur as they relate to design and documentation.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Your Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited program or equivalent in education and experience required for professional licensure.
- Your Licensure: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with current license. NCEES registration and NSPE membership preferred. CSI-CDT certification preferred (and training provided). LEED AP BD+C and WELL AP certification preferred.
- Your Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a wide variety of project types.
- Strong knowledge of the electrical engineering and documentation process. Strong experience independently designing power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security systems and communications for large, complex tasks and assignments, as well as those of a routine nature.
- Strong knowledge of the production of construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong experience executing the quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes.
- Strong experience producing construction drawings and specifications. Strong knowledge of electrical standards and regulations, and experience researching and applying/incorporating into technical documents.
- Strong experience coordinating and integrating work with architects, designers, engineers, construction administrators, consultants, authorities having jurisdiction, and other members of a project team.
- Strong experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects of complex nature while working professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent track record of thriving in a deadline-driven, client service setting with experienced and less experienced staff, as demonstrated through your competencies.
- Your Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD required.
- Experience in Arc Flash Studies utilizing software for simulations. Proficiency in Elum Tools or Visual Lighting Software and Easy Power.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook required. Experience in Project, SharePoint, and Teams preferred.
