HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION

The Admissions Clerk performs all job assignments with a positive attitude that supports San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance’s mission and vision of saving species worldwide by uniting our expertise in animal care and conservation science with our dedication to inspiring passion for nature and leading the fight against extinction. The Admissions Clerk under direction, trains, assists with scheduling and performs a variety of duties related to admissions and/or selling of tickets. This position reports to the Lead/Admissions Manager.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Handles all phases of selling admission tickets
• Maintains accurate records of all transactions
• Prepares memberships for processing
• Operates and balances cash register receipts
• Quote rates at the Zoo and Safari Park admissions
• Handles routine telephone calls concerning scheduled 
• Administers the admissions and ticket selling functions
• Follow Admissions policies and procedures
• Performs arithmetic calculations
• Operate a cash register accurately and efficiently
• Communicate effectively
• Interact well with a diverse group of people
• Deal tactfully and courteously with the public
• Customer relations skills  
• Use of two-way radio equipment 
• Use point-of-sales automated systems 
• Communicate and work effectively with others 
• Work in a team environment

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance is seeking a candidate with training and/or experience which would demonstrate the essential functions, knowledge, and skills listed. Ability to work a flexible schedule on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The position is both in an office setting and outside, where you will stand for prolonged periods of time. Night and weekend shifts are required.
