Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President, Controller is responsible for researching, formulating, and drafting corporate financial policies and procedures for UniGroup, Inc. and its subsidiaries.  This role oversees the design, development and implementation of corporate financial systems including procure-to-pay and order-to-cash. The Controller also manages the commercial finance, corporate accounting, tax, and financial reporting activities for UniGroup C.A. and its affiliates as well as provides technical accounting and project based financial assistance to the Chief Financial Officer.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Oversees the monthly close and consolidation of the financial statements for the UniGroup, C.A. and affiliates. 
•Jointly oversees the monthly and quarterly results and forecasting process with FP&A and Operations management.
•Responsible for technical accounting including drafting policies and advising on strategic transactions. 
•Owns financial systems and the Company’s ERP system, Microsoft AX.
•Provides financial assistance to the Chief Financial Officer, as requested, on a transaction by transaction basis.  
•Represents the financial functions in key system implementations, integrations and special projects, and is a key leader in upcoming ERP upgrade.
•Manages the tax function which incorporates income taxes, all operating taxes and vehicle registrations.  
•Ensures compliance with all bank covenants and credit requirements critical to the operations of the Company.
•Ensures the timely and accurate completion of the annual financial statements.
•Oversees and coordinates annual external audit requirements.

Education, License or Certification: 
•Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or, an equivalent combination of education and relevant business experience
•Graduate Degree or graduate-level courses in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.  
•CPA certification  
•Eight or more years of public accounting experience preferred. 
•At least five years in a management capacity.
•Experience with relevant financial systems, automation tools and close best practices preferred.
