FSE - Sonar Technician (Contingent)
SUMMARY: Seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer Sonar Technician to assess, repair, maintain, and make recommendations on ships sonar systems.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:(include scope of authority)
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform in-place repairs on Sonar Dome systems to make adjustments or restore systems and equipment operation.
Install equipment, or components in accordance with NAVSEA/OEM manuals.
Troubleshoot electronics correct malfunctions. Understanding of Sonar Dome operations and repair.
Interpret blueprints, specifications, and wiring schematics to locate problems with the sonar systems.
Conduct Fleet Technical Assistance on-site or via distance support as required, to include engineering/technical evaluations, equipment functional checks, troubleshooting, test, analysis and equipment repairs.
Conduct Assessments and Grooms determining equipment condition and out of specification settings; observe operation of the equipment by ship's force to witness the full range of performance, when possible; utilize appropriate measuring equipment to obtain data for evaluation; evaluate findings and make adjustments and repairs to the maximum extent possible during the time available.
Conducting training on Sonar/UBFC systems for technical repair and operation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES), ETC.):
Completion of Navy Sonar A and C School or OEM Technical Program.
Must have graduated AN/SQS-56 or AN/SQS-53 "C" school
Must be proficient using general and special purpose electronic test equipment to perform organizational level maintenance.
Must have a working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, visit processes and reporting methods for visits.
Must have experience with regular usage of accepted current instrumentation for diagnosing equipment.
Must demonstrate an ability to interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics and plans and the ability as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to troubleshoot, analyze and provide distance support for surface ship sonar systems system equipment.

US Navy Master Training Specialist
AN/SQS-53 and AN/SQS-19 system experience selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
