POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for, but not limited to, the oversight, accounting, and support of the inventory control staff in the distribution centers.  Their duties require the meticulous review of their staff as they ensure the accurate facility product counts that are impacted by the inputting of daily receiving quantities, mis-selection, out of code product, poor quality, recalled product, donations, misplaced product, poor rotation, or any other activity that would detract from the accurate accounting for all product counts.  The Inventory Control Supervisor ensures that the necessary steps in WIMS (Warehouse Management System) are appropriately taken to maintain an overall accurate inventory for each department.        

 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Communicates and enforces the compliance of all safety/work rules in the department

Ensures
that all department associates are properly trained to fulfill job requirements, making accommodation to address any deficiencies

Oversees the completion of cycle counts
and aisle audits to ensure accuracy with product in reserve and pick slots; initiates, schedules, and organizes periodic full facility audits 

Responds to discrepancies in counts with specified product, holding personnel accountable

Resolves inventory related issues using the computer based system

Verifies slot moves of product that have
been completed from the computer, addresses any questionable activity, is a resource for others

Investigates and corrects inventory discrepancies relative to shorts and ensures they are processed in a timely and accurate manner

Investigates excessive overflow in pick
aisles and manages personnel accordingly

Responds immediately to inquiries from
Customer Service (CRIS reports), Procurement, Senior Management, and any incidents that significantly impact inventory counts

Oversees the acquisition and isolation of recalled product due to safety/quality concerns

 
Manages designated penalty boxes identifying the reason for the existence of product and utilizes all system tools to correct the problem, creating room in reserve

Confirms that steps are taken to confirm
that Ti-Hi and dimensions for all product is correct

Addresses reserve capacity with their
staff by strategically moving product systemically, to accommodate the greatest cube

Ensures that the placement of product in
reserve is in accordance with all safe food handling, namely placement of product in correct temperature zones and proper placement to prevent cross contamination of Chicken/Meat and Seafood/ Shellfish; responds immediately to any non-compliance to established practices

Communicates immediately to management any deviation to acceptable practices

Responds to spills, dropped pallets,
damaged product that would necessitate an adjustment to inventory and ensures a real-time change is made to the counts

Monitors
the productivity level of all associates, making sure that value-added work is accomplished at all times; addresses areas of concern timely and professionally
 
Is a polished communicator, able to work collaboratively with other departments, namely: Operations management, Procurement, and Work-flow
 
Delegates work to associates based on the need of the department
