POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Support Supervisor is responsible for, but not limited to, providing the daily leadership and support to distribution Support associates with varied levels of responsibilities and job functions. The Support Supervisor is to clearly and Thoroughly communicate job expectations, ensure proper training is provided, and maintain high levels of accountability and follow through.  The Support Supervisor is fully responsible for safety, quality, departmental efficiency, customer service, scheduling. Sanitation, payroll/overtime, daily startup meetings, and any other related Support activity within the departments.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicates and enforces the compliance of all safety/work rules in the department

Ensures
that all department associates are properly trained to fulfill job requirements, making accommodation to address any deficiencies

Responds immediately to inquiries from
Customer Service (CRIS reports), Procurement, Senior Management, and any incidents that significantly impact inventory counts

Communicates immediately to management
any deviation to acceptable practices

Responds to spills, dropped pallets,
damaged product that would necessitate an adjustment to inventory and ensures a real-time change is made to the counts

Maintain high levels of consistent
accountability with all key business activity

Evaluate the performance of assigned
associates delivering positive and /or negative feedback, addressing any short comings

Spend 70% of their time on the floor
maintaining a strong floor presence, enhancing morale and ensuring a positive work environment
 
Monitors the productivity level of all associates, making sure that value-added work is accomplished at all times; addresses areas of concern timely and professionally

Is a polished communicator, able to work collaboratively with other departments, namely: Operations management, Procurement, and Work-flow

Delegates work to associates based on the need of the department

Promotes team unity within the department by fostering strong morale, teamwork, and healthy communication and holding associates accountable

Communicates any problems to other members of management that are caused by personnel, damage, or equipment opportunities, consistently and in an respectful and appropriate manner.
 
 Other duties as assigned by Senior Management.

 

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

Participate on quality improvement teams or focus groups
Initiates correspondence with outside departments that impact overall inventory
Support shipping/receiving operations during high volume activity such as holidays

·       Support other facilities when necessary, able to travel and spend time out of town.

 

BEHAVIORIAL ABILITIES NEEDED:

Must be able to read, write and understand basic instructions in the English language

Must be able to interact with associates professionally and effectively

Able to teach, mentor, and coach associates to success

·         Maintain standards of personal hygiene and proper dress code.

 

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE NEEDED:

 
One year Distribution related experience required

·         Proficient in the AS400 screens and WIMS programs through experience, a plus

Must have math and  basic computer skills; Outlook, Office, and Excel

·         Possess the ability to retain information such as search screens and processes.

·         PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Be available to work all shifts/days of the week
  • Walking, squatting, reaching, twisting, bending and carrying up to 75 pounds, distances of up to 8 feet on wet or slippery surfaces
  • Push and pull items with a resistance of up to 50 pounds
  • Using repetitive motions with upper and lower extremities; mounting and dismounting equipment approximately 9 inches high
  • Perform work in a refrigerated warehouse with temperatures ranging from 40 degrees to 29 degrees.
  • Must pass post-employment substance abuse screening, physical ability, and physical health screening which includes the HPE (Human Performance Evaluation) test

·         Follow and promote all safety/work rules and report to Management any problems that interfere with a safe work environment.
